Greetings to all you Leibbrandt Gatherers!
I do
hope you are all doing well and are very focussed and tuned into our
Leibbrandt Gathering 2005 which will be held in Port Alfred from
Friday evening, 23rd September to Sunday evening, 25th
September.
On behalf of the steering committee I would like
those of you who will be at the Gathering to extend this
invitation to any other Leibbrandts you may know to come along and
join us. This is going to be an exciting and relaxing time for all
who will be present. The whole weekend is going to be informal and
this will be your chance to meet other Leibbrandts and maybe even
distant family that you did not even know about.
The
programme will be as follows:
Friday Evening , 23rd
September:
Meet at the Port Alfred River Ski Club from18:00. Each
family is requested to bring along a plate of eats to share with all
present. At about 19:00 an informal "Getting to know You" will take
place. Thereafter Dr Paul Leibbrandt will give a short talk on his
research into the Leibbrandt name and will also tell us about some
interesting Leibbrandts. Refreshments will follow. Please note that
the P.A.R.S.C. Cash bar will be open and you are requested to buy
your drinks & cool drinks from there.
Saturday Morning,
24th September:
Meet at the P.A.R.S.C. Car Park at 10:00. An
Observation Tour has been arranged for you which will take you
through Port Alfred and vicinity so that you can get to know the
area a bit better. Lunch and the rest of the afternoon are at your
leisure. Do your own thing. Meet again at the P.A.R.S.C. at 18:00
for a spit braai. The cost of the spit braai per person will be
approximately R55.00. This will include salads and desert with tea
and coffee to follow.
Sunday Morning, 25th September:
At
your leisure. Meet again at 15:00 at the Clubhouse. This will be
your opportunity to have your last say and to say your good-byes.
Refreshments will be available.
It is of the utmost
importance that you arrange your own accommodation. Port Alfred is a
popular holiday destination and the Leibbrandt Gathering 2005 falls
in the school holidays too, so please book early and avoid
