Selfportrait by Christian Leibbrandt (1868-1941), charcoal drawing, 40 x 41 cm, 1912, Mirror image.
According to his youngest son Christian Wilhelm Leibbrandt (1906-1994), this was the best work Christian Leibbrandt made.
Many photo copies of this work are spread out over the Leibbrandt family.
The original charcoal drawing is inherited by Gerry Leibbrandt in Wellington, New Zealand.

Christian Leibbrandt was amateur painter in Amsterdam.

"Leibbrandt, Christian; geboren in Amsterdam 3 augustus 1868, overleden in Amsterdam 22 september 1941.
Woonde en werkte aldaar. Leerling van de Quellinusschool te Amsterdam.
Van beroep winkelier. Schilderde en tekende uit liefhebberij."
