Dear Leibbrand & Cragun Family, We’re really looking forward to recreating our Lone Pine Resort days – Some time around the week of Mon Aug 13 – Fri Aug 17th!!! From plays, to rockets, fishing, Risk, kick-the-can, shuffle board, cards, talking and enjoying each others company, it’s been way too long since we’ve all gotten together. Here’s the start of a plan… Starting with my Grandpa and Grandma Leibbrand, they had 5 boys: Bob Leibbrand (wife Janet) – sons Lou & Lonnie Lou Leibbrand – killed in WW II Bill Leibbrand (wife Hazel) – sons Alan & Craig Keith Leibbrand (wife Crit) – sons Curt, Todd & Brad Don Leibbrand (wife Ruth) – sons Steve & Robin Now Grandpa had some brothers and sisters. So, now we turn to the Cragun side of the family. First there’s Bill (Jim) & Hazel Cragun the owners of Lone Pine Resort, which provided all of us a place to spend my childhood vacations with all of you. Bill & Hazel Cragun had a few kids and they are: Jim (Bill) Cragun Jeff Cragun Judy Cragun Jill Cragun John Cragun I think Jim & Hazel liked the letter “J”. Anyway – I need to make sure everyone is invited. I’ve called most of you, but haven’t gotten in touch with Steve and Robin. Now, I need to make sure I have everyone’s e-mail address. Who is everyone? Anyone who wants to join us (even if you can’t). To get a bit more organized, please forward this to those you know want to come, but aren’t on this list. PLEASE include their e-mail, or reply to me with their phone number. I’ll call them up and invite them. I’m hoping to see the Ward Leibbrand side of the family and catching up with Kathy and Faye. … and now it’s time for me to help get ready for some friends coming over tonight for my 48th birthday party. If you’ve read this far, let me introduce Hans Leibbrandt (I included Hans in the To: list of this e-mail) Here’s an e-mail that I received Jan 17 of the year and should have followed up on. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ RE: Is there still someone related to me in Weissach ? Sure ! Hello Brad Leibbrand, Although your message on http://www.weissach.de/marktplatz-gewerbe/gaestebuch.htm is about two years old, you still are there! Did you know that when you look for Brad Leibbrand with Google, this is the first hit? I could not open your attached file winmail.dat Can you convert is to MS-WORD ald send it again? I am a retired technical writer of Philips Medical Systems. My job was making userdocumentation and help systems for large systems such as MRI and CT scanners. This gave me large experience with Internet and websites. My website http://www.leibbrandt.com runs on a private webserver, (it is an old PC in the metercabinet), so I can put gigabytes on the Internet. In 2003, I visited the - now Philips Medical Systems Ultrasound plant in Bothell. The flight from Amsterdam to Seattle takes at least 10 hours. Although you live in a very pleasant part of the earth, I think, I will never be again in your environment. You can see on my home page many photo's of our home and garden. When you have a phone dial-up Internet connection, this will be too much data to download, but it will all come on the CD. Sending the CD takes about two weeks, probably by all kind of bomb-check and other USA safety procedures. You can see that many Leib(b)rand(t)'s are living in the USA, descending from a number of immigrants from villages in Württemberg 200 to 300 years ago. The USA Lybrand family is one of them, This name was misspelled at arival from "Johann Leibbrand" to "John Lybrand" . There is no hard evidence that the Leib(b)rand(t)'s descend from the Lombard King Liutprand, but it is very probably as I have indicated in the L-family tree http://www.leibbrandt.com/stamm.htm Best regards, Hans Leibbrandt.
