Carol has been working on our Family Tree, so I was going to wait till Sunday before ftping our file. Our Leibbrand side only goes back to Michael Leibbrand (born in Germany and moved to the US in mid 1800. Her family + her ex-husbands genealogy is contained in the file. It would be great if you could help us connect up to our missing link. I've been taking advantage of our great snow & skiing this year (the Snoqualmie Pass ski resort http://www.summit-at-snoqualmie.com/ an hour away needs a 1,000 feet higher elevation as it is close to the snow level especially with our warming weather & melting glaciers). My favorite ski resort is about 2 hours away http://www.skicrystal.com/. This year I bought a new pair of skis as I've skied on my last pair for 25 years. They are too much fun. This is basically the first time I've sat down to our computer since your e-mail, except for a brief check of e-mail before bed. My girls like to do their homework and talk with friends on line + I work all day on my computer at work, so I tend to be a slug on this computer (slow moving slimy snail like creature that is native to the Pacific Northwest http://oregonstate.edu/dept/nurspest/mollusks.htm ). Thanks for all of the info and your work. I've enjoyed surfing the web and learning a bit more about the middle-ages and our role in it. Our kids are having fun with our ancestors. We're really looking forward to meeting you some time soon. Enjoy, Brad Leibbrand and the clan. -----Original Message----- From: Hans Leibbrandt [mailto:hans@leibbrandt.com] Sent: Thursday, January 19, 2006 11:00 AM To: Brad Leibbrand Subject: RE: Is there still someone related to me in Weissach ? Sure ! (3) Hello Bred, Sorry for responding late, but i lost a day with an unpleasant problem: I downloaded a WinXP driver for an old flatbed scanner. The self-extracting file placed a worm on the disk and after an hour, the disk was unreadable. Fortunatelly I have a backup-disk running, so nothing was lost, but I had to FDISK, Format and fill the 80 GB disk again... I suppose, you found me in the L-family tree: T7.3.2) Hans Lodewijk Leibbrandt Gen. 13 E-mail: hans@leibbrandt.com El. Ingenieur When you come over to Europe, you are welcome here; we have a big house where we live now with 2; the children have their own homes. Our home is easy to find. Indeed I am interested in the "Family Tree Maker" files that your wife made. Is it her or your family tree? or both? I have the "Family Tree Maker" program, release 4, I got it from William Maxfield Harris . See : http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/h/a/r/William-Maxfield-Harris/ He ran out of his webspace at "treemaker.genealogy.com" , so i helped him with webspace on my webserver, see : http://www.leibbrandt.com/harris/ You can upload to that place with FTP Besides the Harris files, my server hosts also http://www.leibbrandt.com/pieterse/ which is the same as http://www.familiepieterse.nl/ Hans Pieterse is one of my friends, he lives in Montevideo and uploads his Pieterse-Genealogy files to my server. You see, working with the Internet is my hobby. Sure ! Hello Brad Leibbrand, Not living in Weissach or Württemberg, but in Best, The Netherlands, I think you will be interested in the big Leibbrand(t) family tree at http://www.leibbrandt.com/stamm.htm (400KB) Unfortunately your "Great, Great Grandfather Michael Leibbrand, born in Weissach on April 5th, 1827" is not included in this family tree, but his ancesters certainly are. More general info about the Leibbrand(t) Genealogy you will find on http://www.leibbrandt.com When you are really interested, i can send you a CD with all the files on the L-site (about 400 MB) Best regards, Hans Leibbrandt. ______________________________________________________________ Re: "Dear Weissach Friends, I think my Great, Great Grandfather Michael Leibbrand was born in Weissach on April 5th, 1827, and was married to Rosena Zindler (born Sept 9, 1831). Michael came from Stuttgart, Germany in 1854 at the age of 27. From there Michael lived in Minnesota and had a son named Jacob. Jacob had a son named Edward. Edward had a son named Keith. Keith Leibbrand is my father. I am Brad Leibbrand and live near Seattle Washington. I am married and have 2 daughters + a step son and daughter. My wife Carol and I see that there are still Leibbrand's in Weissach Germany and wonder if we are related? I do not speak German, but would love to talk with someone who knows English and knows if there is still someone related to me in Weissach. Thanks again, Brad Leibbrand e-mail: bradford.Leibbrand@gte.net _____________________________________________________________________ Hans Leibbrandt Kievietlaan 4 5683RC Best, The Netherlands Phone, Fax: +31 (0)499-398260 Mailto:hans@leibbrandt.com http://www.leibbrandt.com
