I have received your CD in the mail. Thank you very much. I have attached a hand written document outlining our familiy tree from our German cousins. We are connected to this as the bottom row Christoph Leibrandt is the youngest of 8 brothers of my grandfather Julius. I hope this may lead us to join somewhere Kind Regards, Adam >From: Hans Leibbrandt >To: "adam L" >Subject: Re: Polish Leibrandts Genealogy >Date: Mon, 31 May 2004 13:32:30 +0200 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Get Extra Storage in 10MB, 25MB, 50MB and 100MB options now! But unfortunataly, there is a missing link in the SA L-line of Rob Leibbrandt. So he does not fit somewhere in the big L-family tree, what he regrets also. About the Leibrand(t)'s with one B. In the centuries 1550 till 1800 all kinds of spelling variations of the L-name where created. "The different manners of writing of the name has no genealogical meaning. As in the past centuries the family name was written only on the basis of pronunciation by someone that could write, different manners of writings appeared. " Up till now I have no Leibrand(t)'s with one B in the big L-family tree, but I am sure that they should be there, (just like the USA Lybrand's). I have now messages from several Leibrand(t)'s with one B, but up till now there are no connections between them. Maybe your father's is family tree, gives a line to some other Polish Leibrand(t)'s. My brother Mattew is holding the microphone, then it is my father Waldemar, then my mother Helena, Myself and then my mothers father Kazimire. My other brother simon was living in England at the time. With the Australian contacts you forwarded in previous emails, do you think i should simply email them and see what happens? kind regards, Adam >From: Hans Leibbrandt >To: "adam L" >Subject: Re: Polish Leibrandts Genealogy >Date: Mon, 24 May 2004 23:00:52 +0200 > -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Open an Online Savings Account today & collect a bonus $30*! Being separated from everything, its great to finally find a link to our history, and such a action packed history! We have only 11 members in our entire family in Australia. I have forwarded this information to my auntie who has forwarded it to our cousins in Germany (Ute and Christoph Leibrandt). We have also discovered a Leibbrandt that came to Australia from South Africa. I think I have found him too: http://www.leibbrandt.com/LEIBBRANDT_archive/Rob_Leibbrandt_Brisbane/ There was a missing link to place him in the family tree. We will ask them to refer to the family tree and see where we link up (if they can ascertain a link). I will forward you our findings. Our family's history in South Africa seems very prominant. I saw in the text that a lot of Leibbrandt's were/are engineers. My grandfather Julius was an engineer and his 7 brothers were either chemists or engineers, so there might be a link there. I have started my own Marketing company, my brother is at university studying engineering and my oldest brother is a school teacher. My father is an accountant. What is the Leibbrandt family like over in the Netherlands? Most of them are academics or engineers, like me, see http://www.leibbrandt.com/LEIBBRANDT_archive/STAMBOOM_L/Dutch_Leibbrandt_s.doc I am now retired, but still in the race as consultant, see http://www.leibbrandt.com/consultancy/ On-line L-genealogy is all done by L-engineers , in the archive is the material comming from: Germany, France, Spain, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Chili, Malysia, The Netherlands Kind Regards, Adam Leibrandt and the Australian Leibrandt Family p.s. If it is not too much trouble, we would greatly appreciate the other information on the website.
